i think these are all really cool! i really like the last one of the chess pieces, the depth of field is really interesting. i also like the first one, i might personally up the contrast a little bit to make it a little more dramatic.
I really like the first one. I like how we are looking down into the picture. The contrast and balance are really good.
I also like the one with the chess pieces. I like that you can see the reflection on the pieces in the board, maybe a little burning would help it stand out more?
I really enjoy the first and third one. The reflection in the one of the book is amazing. Maybe you could add a little more contrast to this one? I love your composition with the first one. It reminds me of my childhood :)
I love the first one! It reminds me of preschool and playing around with all my toy cars. It's very cute and unique. I also really enjoy the reflection in the third image. Maybe crop out a bit of the bottom though?
i think these are all working well. good job approaching this assignment from a small scale. the only suggestion i have is to darken the darks and lighten the lights just a tad in the third and fourth images. this will boost contrast and make them pop out a bit more. also, i wonder if you could rotate the fourth one just a tiny bit because it seems ever so slightly off-kilter OR you could make it a bit more off-kilter.
Your contrast in all of these is very interesting - I like the book with the reflection and the lightbulb the best. They're all really strong photos, with nice contrast. Maybe dodge the white squares on the checkerboard to up the range?
You did great in experimenting with angles. I love the photo with book (Bible?) and the way it's reflecting. That is a great representation of cultural/social issues.
I like the composition of the 1st, but maybe you could darken the background of the image so that the little toys and animals will pop out a little more.

All the four images look great to me. I really like the reflection of the book on the mirror. I think the chess image needs more contrast to it.

I love taking pictures of toys…they're so intriguing
ReplyDeleteThe lightbulb is so interesting…I really want to try something like that now…no suggestions for that
how did you do the open book?? The reflection seems so detailed
